Ferdinand Omanyala Edges Closer to Sub-10s as He Clinches Fourth Win of the Season

Ferdinand Omanyala is on fire! The African record holder has done it again, winning his fourth competition of the season at the Athletics South Africa Grand Prix in Gauteng on Wednesday.

While he might not have reached his sub-10-second goal just yet, Omanyala remains optimistic and is inching closer to the target. Clocking in at 10.05 seconds, he beat out fellow Kenyan Samwel Imeta, who finished with a respectable time of 10.22 seconds.

“I can feel it getting closer and closer. It’s just a matter of fine margins,” said Omanyala after the race.

And despite his usual slow start at the blocks, he managed to make up for it with an impressive second half of the race, overtaking Imeta on the outside lane and the rest of the pack to clinch his well-deserved victory.

The next stop for Omanyala is Botswana, where he hopes to make even more progress toward his sub-10-second goal.

“I’m still chasing it down,” he said confidently. “I’m looking forward to a good race and hopefully, I can finally hit that target.”
