Ferdinand Omanyala Celebrates Setting 2023 World Fastest Time   

Sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala’s 2023 outdoor season got off to a great start as he set a word leading time.

The Commonwealth Champion who just got back from a triumphant French indoor tour, officially kicked off the outdoor season in his hometurf at Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium. 

2023 100m World Leading Time 

On Friday, February 2023 the 100m African Champion ran 9.86 Seconds in the 100m heats at the Athletics Kenya meet, recording a world lead time for the first over the weekend. 

The 26 year old set another world leading time during the AK meet. This is after the Trackstar stormed to the finish line in 9.81 seconds. 

Reacting to his world leading time, Omanyala took to his social media platforms to celebrate … 

“The fastest time in the world this year.” He wrote…

Omanyala assured he is not done with his record breaking streak, 

“9.81s it will not take long before it goes down again.” adding

But in the meantime let’s celebrate”  it.” 

Ferdinand Omanyala Looking to Clock Personal Best Time As He Eyes World Record.

Ferdinand Omanyala who is never shy of sharing his ambitions revealed he is looking to clock a personal best time this season. 

“I am targeting 9.6 seconds. This will be the second fastest all-time record.”

Omanyala who currently ranked 9th among fastest men of all time with a time of 9.77 Seconds assured his ambition is achievable. 

He now looks ahead to South Africa Grand Prix scheduled for April 12th and the World Championships in Budapest in August 2023.
