It seems beef Season in the 254 is upon us. Surely our hip hop scene is going to wind up the year on a high note, crazy punch lines, under belt shots and interesting shenanigans of the music industry at large.
Kaka Empire signed Femcee Shikow Femi One is out spitting bars. After listening to the diss record several times, seems like no one is safe. She is specifically addressing the ladies in the game and calls the out each of them by name, reiterating they need to put respect on her name.
On the record titled “Pilau Njeri”, she goes in heavy on industry peer and rapper Njeri. The video kicks off with a snapshot of Njeri paying homage to Femi One as one of the people she looks up to for inspiration. So you might ask where was the love lost? Well, let’s delve into it.
A few months back, during the Who is the 254 King debate, Njeri had a record out called ‘No King’. Her bars dissed people biting her style, those failing to reckon her Kikuyu infused rap and all who claimed to own empires (about to go collapse). There was a line “Banture brikicho/ si ukam nikushow/But kuna vile umebebewa akili/wacha nikusare kabla uandikiwe mistari” That is the genesis of Femi One outrage.

On the new record produced by Rico Beats, she addresses all claims of ghostwriters on her verses, her place on the throne as queen of Hip Hop in the 254 and her success earning her big cheques in recent gigs lie Coke Studio and Sportpesa festival. Njeri is the punching bag on this one as Femi clowns her rapping skills, trash music, her begging to be on a collabos, her snap chat antics, whack Mc Name, her failure to be on Kenyan hit list charts, calling her Njeri 98 actually “Pilau Njeri (a delicacy from coastal regions of Kenya but ladies from Central Kenyan make it so bad hence the name)and dares her to reply bar for bar.
Other Culprits who got a blow include Sossun (Sipendi Watu wana Kam So soon) Kush Tracey who she claims she has no time for hence giving her free publicity, Noti Flow who is said to have spent endless nights in studio with her producer to earn a hit.
From a listener point of view, the braggadocio and punch lines on this record is waaay too funny you just have to press play again and again. The video is well done, with just her on the frame and I like the military jacket she adorned to signify war and throwing endless jabs at the camera while at it.
This is definitely an 8/10 and we shall be here waiting for the replies and clap backs.
