Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua has come out to refute claims that have been going around claiming that he has been fired from his big job title.
The rumours were instigated last evening by Senator Mutula Kilonzo who alleged that Mutua had been fired due to abuse of office claims.
“Ezekiel Mutua unlawfully removed by CS Mucheru as CEO after being lawfully appointed by the Board. Laws are mere suggestions for this administration,” read the tweet from Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.
It wasn’t long before the news broke out that Kenyans started giving their two cents on the matter. Many were in a celebratory mood as most entertainers believe that Mutua is the source of all their agony in the industry.
One such entertainer is comedian Eric Omondi who did not hesitate to express his delight at the news.
“I said before September!!! and you thought it was a joke. you cannot bite the hand that feeds you. We are your employers. I told you your only option was to apologise to the entertainment industry for your unfortunate remarks but I guess it’s too late. I don’t know how true or false the word going around is, but I still promise you, unless you apologise and change your ways…hautakua kwa hiyo ofisi by September,” Eric’s post read.
Some netizens were on his side, defending his character.
Mr Mutua took to his social media to clarify about his status at KFCB and denied the news.
“I am not aware of such developments and there can be no grain of truth in them as there’s no vacancy in the office of the CEO KFCB,” Mutua said.
