Esse Akida Makes A Grand Debut At PAOK With A Thrilling Hat-trick

Harambee Starlets striker Esse Akida was recently the star player of the match between her team PAOK and Anenii Noi in the ongoing UEFA Women’s Championship League.

Akida scored a thrilling hat trick in her debut match, netting her first goal just six minutes after getting on the field.

Her second score was in the 88th minute, and she completed the hat-trick before the final whistle of the game.

Esse Joined PAOK FC, the women’s football division of the greater Greek multisport club AC PAOK back in July.

After Esse’s team six – nil victory, they will face Norwegian Club Valerenga in the champion’s league qualifiers, as they look to advance into the group stages of the tournament.

The debut Hat-trick ensured Esse Akida’s entry to the top scorers’ list in the ongoing UEFA Women Champion’s League.

In celebration, she posted, “Even in my wildest of dreams I couldn’t have thought of such a debut.”

Esse has had a good career, getting a golden boot in the COTIF tournament back in 2016, she also became the first Kenyan female to score at the AFCON in the same year.

In 2017 Esse got a special award from the chairperson of the Sports Journalism Association of Kenya.
