Rapper Wangechi has exciting news for her fans as she unveils her forthcoming album, “Emotional Gangster,” set to hit the music scene on September 15th.
In a recent announcement, Wangechi unveiled Emotional Gangster’s artwork and shed light on the theme, describing it as a reflection of her inner duality.
The new project comes as a follow-up to her 2022 collaborative release, “Chonjo,” which she worked on alongside Scar Mkadinali from the renowned Wakadinali group.
Her journey in the rap world began in 2013 when she dropped her mixtape titled “Consume – Chakula ya Soul.”
Wangechi has been making waves in the music industry, with her most recent appearance being on the track “Mzigo” alongside drill group, Buruklyn Boyz.
“An album about the duality of me. I either show up as a gangster or an emotional babe depending on the season. Can’t wait for y’all to hear and enjoy this collection of music that I put together,” she said.
Wangechi drew inspiration from Kenyan legends like Nazizi, Kalamashaka, as well as international icons such as Jay-Z, Lauren Hill, Missy Elliott, The Notorious B.I.G., and Kanye West (formerly known as Kanye).
“Emotional Gangster” is a product of collaborative efforts, featuring production by Kaxi on the beat and Ares 66.
