Eliud Kipchoge Reacts To Best Male Athlete Award

This past weekend, Eliud Kipchoge won the Best Male Athlete of the Tokyo Olympics 2021.

The award ceremony, organised by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) was held at the Open Air Theatre of the Creta Maris Beach Hotel, Greece.

The Marathon world record holder received the award from the president of ANOC Africa; Mustapha Berraf.

Eliud Kipchoge Reaction to winning Best Male Athlete of Tokyo 2020 Olympics

The two times Olympics Gold Medallist took to Twitter to celebrate his win.

“It is an honour to win the ANOC award for the Best Male Athlete at Tokyo Olympics. With so many Beutiful Perfomances by so many Athletes, I am proud to be the recipient of the award. Thank you for all the support!

In his acceptance speech Kipchoge expressed his gratitude;

“When you win two Olympic gold medals back-to-back, its making history because only three people have done it, I’m happy to have done that in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics,”

He highlighted the importance of the Tokyo 2020 Games, especially during Covid 19 Pandemic.

“It brought hope to the whole world after the Covid-19 crashed the whole world.”

Kipchoge became the third Athlete to defend the Olympic men’s marathon title in history.
