Isuzu East Africa honored Eliud Kipchoge with one of Japan’s most coveted and highest traditional awards, The Samurai Kabuto helmet.
The helmet, traditionally worn by Samurai warriors and was presented to Kipchoge for his long list of achievements in which he has set world records and broken barriers in his stellar athletics career, was presented by the companies MD Rita Kavashe , board Chairman Hiroshi Hisatomi on behalf of Isuzu Motors Limited Japan President, Masanori Katayama.

The award comes just a month after Kipchoge won the Best Male Athlete of the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
The award ceremony, organised by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) was held at the Open Air Theatre of the Creta Maris Beach Hotel, Greece.
The Marathon world record holder received the award from the president of ANOC Africa; Mustapha Berraf.
