Isuzu East Africa has launched its limited edition of Eliud Kipchoge 1:59 Isuzu D-Max in honor of the greatest marathoner.
Isuzu will produce 159 units of the vehicles to mark the Olympian’s legendary under two hours Marathon record in Vienna, Austria in 2019.
The first custom-built limited edition model of a vehicle issued by a Kenyan dealer will retail at over Sh9 million.
Kipchoge who has been Isuzu’s brand ambassador since 2017 will get the first of the pick-ups for his use.

The concept that was announced in October 2022 will see the limited edition vehicles assembled at Isuzu’s plant in Nairobi.
Isuzu’s East Africa Managing director Rita Kavashe said the custom-built pick-up, which features the Kenyan flag and the marathoner’s signature, would sell at a higher price than the standard models.
“We thought this is the best way to honor Eliud Kipchoge and we are grateful to our shareholders for supporting us in this project,” said Kavashe.
Isuzu revealed the name of each buyer would be engraved in the center console.
