The East African Soul Train – E.A.S.T is a traveling residency and creative immersive experience. E.A.S.T takes place on East Africa’s historic train route ‘The Lunatic Express’ the Kenya – Uganda Railway.
The E.A.S.T journey has three main objectives. Firstly, to show the world and region the perspectives of creatives in East Africa. Secondly, to create a space for deep conversations that matter between people involved in the creative economy. Finally, to increase the quality of collaborations across disciplines and borders.
The train ride completely immerses everyone involved including the passengers.
The second edition of E.A.S.T takes place from 3rd to 6th February. The train takes off from the Nairobi Railway station on Friday 3rd February to Mombasa and then on to a bus to Kilifi where they stay for the rest of the residency.
The artists taking part this year have been announced and the experience is definitely set to get everyone’s creative juices flowing with these uniquely talented creatives taking part.
By and large, we can’t wait to see what comes out of these collaborations.
