Award-winning gospel DJ Fredrick Karumba, popularly known as DJ Krowbar, is appealing for financial help for his ailing wife.
In a rare video, the mixmaster disclosed that his wife Wanjiru was diagnosed with Kidney failure two years ago.
“My wife was diagnosed with kidney failure two years ago. It’s been a crazy journey, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel. Heroes don’t come dressed in capes. Heroes look like this, this is Mercy,” Krowbar said.
Furthermore, the couple revealed that she is in her last stage of treatment, which requires at least KSh 6 million.
“When this journey began, I remember joining hands with my wife saying, “One day we shall see the end of this.” Now the end is right ahead of us and we need your prayers and financial help to hold our hands to make this miracle a reality,” Krowbar said in a video clip.
“This Kidney transplant journey has three faces; Pre-surgery, Surgery, and post-surgery we need financial help on this journey and that is why we are asking you to stand with us,” he added.

In 2017, the couple relocated to South Africa as DJ Krowbar pursued further studies in Audio Engineering at the Sound and Engineering (SAE) Institute of South Africa.
Wanjiru, a fashion designer, continued working as her husband studied. But they returned back to Kenya before she was diagnosed with the disease.
