DJ Joe Mfalme Arrested In Connection To An Inspector’s Demise

In a stunning development, the vibrant pulse of Kenya’s entertainment scene was abruptly silenced after beloved DJ Joe Mfalme found himself ensnared in a web of controversy and suspicion. The arrest of the renowned DJ, alongside his entourage, sent shockwaves through the nation, and his fanbase. Police linked the DJ and his entourage to an assault incident that left a senior detective, Inspector Felix Kelian Kentos, dead on Friday, March 22 while receiving treatment at the Nairobi West Hospital. The senior police officer was fatally assaulted on March 16, 2024.

DJ Joe Mfalme and his entourage was picked up by police on Friday for questioning. A video circulated on social media showing the moment when the celebrity DJ and his entourage was picked up by sleuths. A voice believed to be that of DJ Joe Mfalme is heard asking the officers to allow him to present his case to their senior.“Mkubwa ako wapi?” (Where is the boss?)” DJ Joe Mfalme is heard asking repeatedly.

More details have now emerged about the fateful night that has since landed Joseph Mwenda, popularly known as DJ Joe Mfalme in trouble. The saga began to unfold on a fateful Friday night earlier this month, as DJ Joe Mfalme and his team embarked on what should have been a routine evening of entertainment. Allegations swirled of a late-night altercation outside Texas Barbeque in Kikuyu, where tempers flared, and fists flew in a clash fueled by a scratch on the DJ’s car.

What began as a seemingly innocuous moment quickly escalated into a confrontation fueled by emotion and ego. Reports suggest that a minor altercation, sparked by a scratch on DJ Joe Mfalme’s car, ignited a powder keg of animosity between the two parties.

The situation spiraled out of control, culminating in a violent clash that would ultimately claim the life of Inspector Kentos.

DJ Joe Mfalme’s entourage reportedly dragged the DCI officer from his vehicle, subjecting him to a barrage of kicks and blows before departing the scene. According to accounts from police sources and a formal report disclosed by Citizen TV, the altercation ensued following a “non-injury traffic accident” occurring around 4 am within Kikuyu market. Subsequently, the injured Inspector Felix Kelian Kentos Kitosi was conveyed to Kikuyu Police station where, disturbingly, he faced further assault, exacerbating his already dire condition.

Rushed to Lang’ata Hospital and later transferred to Nairobi West Hospital, Inspector Kentos’ health deteriorated over the course of nearly a week before his eventual passing on Thursday. Despite efforts to save Inspector Kentos’ life, the severity of his injuries proved insurmountable, leading to his untimely passing.  Hospital records reveal he suffered from severe abdominal pain and endured a distressing inability to urinate for a prolonged period.

The perplexing delay in police action, with nearly six days elapsing until March 18th before any arrests were made, has raised significant inquiries into the handling of the case and the pursuit of justice for the victim. In the aftermath of Inspector Kentos’ tragic demise, authorities are tirelessly scouring for witnesses to shed light on the events that unfolded on that fateful night. The search extends beyond mere bystanders, with boda boda riders also being sought after, their eyewitness accounts holding the key to unraveling the mystery surrounding the altercation that led to Inspector Kentos’ untimely passing. News of Inspector Kelian’s death shocked his colleagues with a number of them streaming in to view his body at the morgue on Saturday. The family of Inspector Kentos has begun the arduous task of making funeral arrangements.

Amidst the chaos and uncertainty, DJ Joe Mfalme’s team broke their silence, issuing a statement acknowledging the gravity of the situation. In a press release issued on Sunday, March 24th, they affirm their commitment to cooperating with authorities during the ongoing investigation. The presser vows to navigate the storm of controversy with integrity and transparency and cooperation with the authorities.DJ Joe Mfalme is a renowned Kenyan DJ who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry.
