It was in 2013 when Demi Lovato first came to Kenya, on a trip sponsored by the Me to We and Free the Children organizations, where she serves as a celebrity ambassador to help build a medical clinic. Well folks Demi Lovato is back in Kenya.
“There’s been so many amazing things that have happened on this trip, when I get home I don’t know how I’m going to describe this to anybody. There’s something about just being here that you can’t describe,” she said in a YouTube video. It was at that time, that she also celebrated her 21st birthday tweeting ”Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!! Having the best birthday ever in Africa with !!!”
Seems like she did have a fantastic time because the “Cool for the Summer” singer is back!
The singer/actress took to Instagram Stories to sort of announce her arrival at the airport and has since been snapping her experience in the country, with posts and videos of trips to see baby elephants.
Demi’s earliest fans will remember her time on the Disney Channel when she not only filmed the movie Camp Rock alongside The Jonas Brothers but also starred in the TV series Sonny with a Chance. It was the former and particularly the music released in a soundtrack album, that saw her become “one to watch.”
With a music career spanning 5 studio albums, all certified Gold by the way; Don’t Forget (2008), Here We Go Again (2009), Unbroken (2011), Demi (2013) and Confident (2015), 2 Video Albums, 21 Music Videos, 2 soundtrack albums and 16 Singles, all before her 25th Birthday, it’s only recently that Demi has gained her first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album with her latest release.
She’s nominated in the Best Pop Vocal Album along with Adele’s 25, Justin Bieber’s Purpose, Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman and Sia’s This Is Acting.
I still can't believe I've been NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY…. you guys have no idea how unbelievably grateful and happy I am.. wow… #pinchme
