We are about to wrap up November and the battle of the ‘Big Tune Of The Holiday’ is still going on. Artists are still dropping bangers and we are here to put you on. These are the latest jams banging out on Radio and looking for a place in your playlist.
Octopizzo – Good Morning Africa Feat Idd Aziz
Pizzo Di King just dropped his 5th Studio Album Jungle Fever this morning. The 15-track project will blow your mind with the sounds Octopizzo has adopted, storytelling and amazing wordplay. This record ‘Good Morning Africa’ is the lead single and it will make you feel the African vibe the album showcases. With this album, Octo seeks to foster a society that values music both as part of universal education, universal language, and as an essential expression of the human experience. Stream the jam below.
Blinky Bill – Bado Mapema
One of the most creative trailblazers of the urban scene in Kenya is Blinky Bill. Each project he puts out is an invitation to dance and create a great vibe. Blinky just dropped ‘Bado Mapema’ this morning on all platforms and it is one of the first singles of the upcoming EP We Cut Keys 2. The record is self produced accompanied by a dope video shot in Ngong Hills by CJ Pixels. Stream the jam below and blast it.
Kristoff & Gabu – Wapi Yeye
It has been a hot minute since we heard a record from Mluhya Wa Busia – Kristoff. Luckily, he is back teaming up with P-Unit’s very own Gabu, a.k.a. Bugubugu for this jam ‘Wapi Yeye’. The collaboration candidly addresses the plight of the entertainers in Kenya as they have no source of income. The government has been strict on the Covid-19 rules making it hard for artists to score shows or perform. It is hard for anyone who depends on large gatherings to earn a living. The record comes across somber and a far cry. Stream below.
Lisa Oduor Noah – Jahera
If you want a young, silky-voiced artist with a lot of soul look no further, Lisa Oduor’s catalogue will give you chills. She has a brand new record dubbed ‘Jahera’ that feels like Sunday morning sunrise. The record explores love doubling between English and Dholuo but beautifully sung to bring out the emotions. Trust me, you will listen to this over and over. This one goes straight to my chillout playlist.
