As we brave this cold month of July, the only comfort on my end is the amount of new music dropping in the 254 scenes. This is your chance to update your playlist and let your friends know what is hot and kicking in the 254. Check out this week’s installation of new music by KenyanVibe.
Octopizzo – Pockets
Namba Nane’s finest Pizzo Da King aka Octopizzo is back with a new single off his upcoming album. He just dropped ‘Pockets’ a heavy Trap/Drill beat – and he goes HAM on it. Octo is on his usual rap excellence spitting about getting money, fashion, ruling the streets, his run in the game and now his pockets are filled up. Octopizzo is very comfortable on this type of Trap beat and the overall production is a 10/10. Check out the video.
Boondocks Gang Feat Rekles, Guzman, Vj Chris – Sijazoea ivo
Gengetone is still alive and the vibe is flowing. Of late, collaboration across the groups has been the order of the day. For instance, on this record, we see Rekless from Ethic Entertainment teaming up with Guzman from Mbogi Genje on the jam by the Boondocks Gang featuring VJ Chris. The record label Black Market records responsible for the Mbuzi gang are the crew behind this new record. Get ready for some Sheng lessons and party vibes.
Willy Paul Feat Size 8 – Lenga
Former Gospel star Willy Pozee is teaming up with a longtime friend Size 8 on an intricate topic. This record is a short story on why Willy Paul the Gospel fraternity. Size 8 wants to know the answers as she tries to woo him back to the Gospel front. The two have mad musical chemistry with their sing-song and back-to-back question and answer theme. This is a dope record but I do not know if it falls under the Gospel or secular front.
Jovial Feat Darassa -Usiku Mmoja
Up and rising star Jovial Teams Up With The Legendary Darassa on this hit record ‘Usiku Mmoja’ Produced by: Vicky Pondis & Mr T Touch. Hook-up culture has become very common in recent times and has been translated in the song by edgy and daring Jovial. She alluringly coaxes Darassa aka “Mr Burudani “ into a sexual rendezvous. Darassa is clearly in for the ride, he places his verse skillfully warning jovial on getting strings attached in his words. The song is one of a kind having, a taste from the baddest vocalist from the +254 and the realest G from +255.
