The cold season is here, lockdown still looms, Covid-19 situation is no different still but there is hope with the vaccine. We are hoping you are keeping safe as you continue to isolate. As we wrap up the month of April, there are some new beats on the streets and we want to keep you on the loop. Check out what is hot and trendy in the 254 this week.
Mbogi Genje Feat Petra & Kingpheezle – Limbo Remix
One of the hardest street groups in the 254 – Mbogi Genje has teamed up with Femcee Petra for the ‘Limbo Remix.’ Petra is the only artist from Kenya to score a Vybz Kartel feature and at the moment she is running hot. She brings her hard-hitting bars and rhyme schemes as the boys stay on cue with that raw street voice. Check out the video below.
Rekles Feat Cartoon 47 & Aritah Music – Bado
The influence of Amapiano is really catching on the KE music scene. Rekless who is the lead vocalist at Ethic Entertainment has really stepped up his individual career away from the group and he is trying all sounds available. Bado is an amapiano and gengetone fusion about parting in the streets or a street mode party. Time to get your knees ready for the ‘Vosho’ and ‘Amakiniki’.
Wakadinali Feat All Stars – Avoid Those People
One of the hottest street Hip Hop gang in the 254 is Wakadinali. To fuel the fire, how about an all-star collaboration that sees Domani Munga, Sewersydaa, Boutross, Breeder LW, Abbas Kubaff, Elisha Elai, Dyana Cods and Scar come together on a record. This one will have you rewinding as every rapper brings in the heat on the 8-minute long track. The record brings a vibe on how to survive in the streets and cutting off people who bring no value to your life. Watch the video below.
Bahati Feat Mejja – Dear Ex Remix
This record ‘Dear Ex’ by gospel star Bahati is barely a month old and we have a remix already. The current king of collaborations Mejja Mgenge comes through and lays two verses on the ballad covering relations. The record is produced by Teddy B but is marred in controversy on copyright infringement. The two acts, Bahati and Mejja bring out some relationship struggles and reasons why people break up. Check out the video below and rate it.
