The holiday season is upon us and the new bangers keep dropping. We always have the scoop on what is hot and trendy in the 254 music space and this week we stay on the beat. These are the brand new jams you should be checking out for and adding to your playlist this month. Check out our SoundCloud page for some amazing playlists on Kenyan music.
Sailors 254 Feat Ssaru – Wezi Tu Do
Gengetone group Sailors is under new management after the bad fallout with Mwalimu Rechel. They have a new record out and they took a different direction than the usual. Sailors on a Trap record? Hell yeah! They bring in multi-talented femcee Sylvia Ssaru on this new heat. The jam is produced and directed by Kash Keed. Listen keenly, is this a diss record to someone?
Nadia Mukami Feat Orezi & DJ Joe Mfalme – Dozele
One of the hardest working acts in the scene right now is Nadia Mukami. She is crossing borders now and she just scored a collaboration with Nigerian Superstar, Orezi. ‘Dozele’ is her 13th Studio single and her fourth track off her EP, “AfricanPopStar.” Dozele is a pan-African dance song aimed at bringing Africa together in form of a dance challenge.
H_art The Band Feat Sauti Sol – Issa Vibe
Isn’t this one collaboration we have been looking forward to seeing. Two of the most prolific groups in the 254 music space have teamed up for this vocal heaven. I’d dare say this is a professional choir and it is on H_art the Band’s album ‘Made In The Streets’. It is a song to celebrate the small wins that we sometimes don’t think make a difference. This upbeat afro-dancehall track is meant to cheer you up, get you up on your feet & remind you that life is never that serious. And that, even when things get tough, always take some time off to celebrate life.
Willy Paul Feat Rekless – Aaaih
This week Willy Pozee was super angry at his management label for blocking his Gengetone collaborations on his upcoming album. Pozee is a man who is keen on trends and the Gengetone wave was not gonna pass him. He just dropped this new record with Rekless from Gengetone group ‘Ethic’. Willy Paul brings Rekless to his world with some smooth Afro/Bongo beats and sing-rap style. Check out the jam below.
