Crispy Fresh From The 254 This Week

Last weekend of January and our artists are putting out music hoping for longevity and capture fans early enough. Here are my picks for this week.

Christian Bella Feat Khaligraph

Christian Bella an alternative/Rhumba class artist from Kinshasa Congo has sought the help of 254 “O.G” Khaligraph Jones on a new hit. The Swahili love song titled ‘Olla’ strikes me as a song to play on family occasions, weddings and mid-morning Radio. Khaligraph is exceptional on this record as he tones down his speed and is involved in the overall theme of the jam. The video is shot in Nairobi and it a great piece of art from director Hanscana. Since Bella live in Sweden, this is an important collabo for Khaligraph in terms of international market exposure.

Kayvo Kayforce

Doing what he does best; Kibera’s finest Kayvo goes HAM on this Joint with bars. Titled  “I Do It”, He is really doing what he is supposed to do. You can tell he is uber comfortable on the beat, and delivery is marvelous. Commenting on the song, Kayvo says “I’m breaking away from the norm, back to original Kayvo, my journey, approach in music, life in general and echoing the current state of affairs” I like the relatable rhymes, his brag power, and the writing is on point. The project is produced by Dj Killbill and will be featured on his debut album “SoundByKB”. The video is shot by Vj One.

Timmy T Dat

Timmy is one artist who is working really hard to be on everyone’s lips and ears. He has mastered the formula to churn out hits and “Trikide” sounds like one. Dancehall influenced from beats to flow, the song seeks to praise ladies when they walk and wine showing their huge derriere. The video shot by Enos Olik got ladies as props and Timmy is the man of the moment for the 3minutes. I feel like he is having his mind on stage performances with background dancers wowing the crowd. Sheng rhymes make the song an easy listen and definitely a club banger.

Brian Nadra

New Name on the scene and the company that brings him to light has a great history in the 254. Decimal records under the management of super producer Musyoka and Bon-Eye have decided to rebrand. New signee Nadra has his debut single title “Leo” and it is a legitimate hit. Musyoka who never second guesses on production gave the track a perfect mix and of course the artist an edge to shine. Feel good song,  fit for radio and outdoor events like Koroga with a band, I think Nadra has a good start of the year.
