Sharon Mundia of the popular blog This is Ess has been on hiatus from social media for a year now. No communique’ was sent out on her break. She simply stopped writing and posting across her platforms. According to her, she was experiencing burn out. Her fashion and lifestyle blog which started out as a hobby and turned into a power brand through years of hard work was wearing her out. In the formative years, she would accept free products in exchange for advertising people’s products. This was not sustainable as blogging took up a lot of time and energy. The need to make this hobby profitable lead to her developing a rate which would standardize her fee and mainstream her business.

She started resenting her passion as it had turned into a chore. She would put out content just for the sake of it or because a contract said so. The fact that she was doing something without a reason behind it took the fun out of her job.
She took time off to relish in her pregnancy and be a mother to her new born daughter as she figured out her career.
Sharon admits that she now knows her ‘why’ after the long break. She is ready to share uplifting, informative and entertaining content with her followers. Among the topics, she plans to tackle are motherhood, fashion, home decor, travel and much more.
