Collins Injera To Be Inducted Into the World Rugby Hall of Fame

Kenya 7s player Collins Injera is set to be Inducted into World Rugby Hall of Fame in Fiji.

The World Rugby Hall of Fame recognizes players, coaches, administrators, match officials, institutions and other individuals for important contributions to the sport of Rugby.

Collins Injera will be honoured during the Coral Coast Sevens tournament from the 12th to the 14th of January.

Collins Injera’s induction into the World Rugby Hall of Fame comes after he was named McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s tournament ambassador.

The tournament in its 12th year will be held at Sigatoka, a town dubbed Rugby Town.

Collins Injera, scored 279 tries in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series over a career spanning 16 years.

The 36-year-old is the second all-time leading try scorer in the series behind England’s Dan Norton.

Injera who’s 13th to be inducted into the Fiji Hall of fame joins other veterans including Fiji Sevens Rugby coach and career leader in points scored on the World Rugby Sevens Series Ben Gollings.

Other notable names to be inducted into Rugby Hall of Fame are Waisale Serevi, one of the greatest and most influential players in the history of Rugby Jonah Lomu and Karl Tenana.

Injera arrived in Fiji on Sunday ahead of McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s tournament which starts on Monday.
