Citizen TV Apologizes To Gengetone’s VDJ Jones

Citizen TV has offered a public apology to VDJ Jones for using his photo during a news bulleting.

The station, while reporting the death of Murangá DJ Mike Kay whose body was retrieved from River Mathioya during the weekend, used Jones’ photo and claimed he was dead. Jones and Mike Kay were close friends.

“This is why we’re starting this story with an apology because during our earlier broadcast at 7 pm we inadvertently used the wrong pictures of VDJ Jones while making reference to DJ Mike Kay,” Trevor Ombija stated during the 9 pm bulleting.

The station also apologized to VDJ Jones personally.

The apologies come after Jones had threatened to sue the station and reporters who compiled the story.

“I wish to disassociate myself from this report by Citizen TV Nipashe News. I am alive and kicking. I will press charges against Citizen TV and the reporter Gatete Njoroge,” Jones stated.

VDJ Jones mourned his friend on social media revealing that he trained him and helped him build his brand name.

“I really don’t know what happened but today is the saddest day. 😪😪Rest in Peace brother. I trained u kuwa DJ, I branded u DJ Mike Kay..The Heat Master! Music is my game😂😔 God knows best. RIP @dj_mike_kay.”he said.
