Nywele Festival is set to make its debut in Nairobi next month on the 28th of March. The festival which is the latest in town is looking to provide a space where hair and beauty enthusiasts can creatively showcase their hairstyles, mingle, shop and network.
The event aims to celebrate all men and women of different hair types and looks whether natural, straight, curly, permed or texturized.
We want people to celebrate the hair they wear; by showing people that their hair makes them who they are. We want people to see their hair as their greatest asset. An asset that enables them to feel royal and prestigious. Just the same way we celebrate royalty, is the same way we should celebrate our hair.
The hair trends in Kenya include a thriving natural hair movement, thousand of salons and barbers plus a number of high-end establishments, celebrity stylists, wig makers and sellers and more.
The festival organizers are urging those who attend to come with the most creative hairstyles they can come up with.
The event will be held at Karura Gardens (Kenya Forest Service along Kiambu Road).
