Cannes 2015: Lupita Triumphs the Red Carpet with a Grasshopper Green Gown

Following her beloved “Nairobi blue” dress at the Oscars, Lupita stunned the world once again with her “grasshopper green” gown at the Cannes Film Festival’s opening ceremony yesterday.

Just like her Oscars dress, the grasshopper gown was sentimentally dedicated to Lupita’s African heritage. “It’s a blue that reminds me of Nairobi,” she told People Magazine about her Oscars dress last year. “It’s a little bit of home.”

This time her gown was dedicated to the bright green Nsenene grasshopper – a Ugandan culinary delicacy that is currently in season.

“Thank you @Chopard @Gucci and Uganda’s women for the hair inspiration. #NseneneSeason #Cannes2015,” she captioned a stunning set of Instagram pictures that she shared after her red carpet appearance yesterday.

The dress itself is a Gucci chiffon design featuring a mini capelet and embellished hand-painted floral crystals. Lupita accompanied her twirling dress with Chopard diamond earrings and a coordinating double-strand headband. Check out the pictures below:
