Kenyan Hip-Hop group Camp Mulla are definitely going global after becoming the first Kenyan act to be nominated for a BET International Award.
The five member group have been nominated in the Best International Act: Africa category – introduced just three years ago at the BET Awards.
Camp Mulla will be in the same category as Lira, Ice Prince, Wizkid, Sarkodie and Mokobe.
Nigeria is a strong contender, having taken taken the award home two years in a row with D’ Banj and 2Face.
Camp Mulla, which is made up of Miss Karun, Yung Kass, Taio Tripper and K’Cous, was formed three years ago and started releasing a slew of singles and freestyles on youtube before their breakthrough hit ‘Party Don’t Stop’ launched them to stardom. Their latest single ‘Hold it Down’ was just released over a month ago off their upcoming album ‘FuNkYToWN’
