Kalasha International Film & TV Awards is calling for submissions for its 2022 edition. Organized by the Kenya Film Commission (KFC), this award seeks to spotlight and award outstanding talents in the Kenyan Film and TV industry. Kalasha International Film & TV Awards takes pride in being one of Kenya’s most prestigious entertainment awards.
The upcoming edition is the film award’s 12th edition. According to KFC, there are 36 award categories up for contest this year – 20 Film, 9 TV, and 7 Special. This is an increase from last year’s 30 categories. Some of the categories include Best Feature Film, Best TV Advertisement, and Viewer’s Choice Awards to mention a few. Kalasha International Film & TV Awards 2022 Submission Rules
Apart from the Best International Award category, all films and TV shows submitted for this edition must have at least a Kenyan producer, Kenyan director, Kenyan cast, or crew to qualify. Only the filmmaker (producer, director, or executive producer) can make a submission.
The submission checklist is as follows:
- Complete Online Google Submission form
- Google Drive Link of the E-submission (ensure permission is granted)
- Signed Terms and Conditions form
- Poster of the submission
- 20-30 seconds trailer
- Classification certificate from Kenya Film Classification Board where applicable
Only productions developed between July 2021 to date are acceptable. As for the TV entries, they must all have been on air for at least 7 episodes before October 2022. All applications must be submitted before the 7th October 2022 deadline.
Past Kalasha winners include Amina Abdi Rabar, Nyce Wanjeri, Pascal Tokodi, Nick Ndeda, and Foi Wambui among others.
