The rumour mill around town has a big one whirling too strong this time round.
The one and only Grammy Award winner Marcus Anthony Myrie aka Buju Banton aka The Gargamel is set to touch down in Kenya on June 1st for a Madaraka Day gig.
Buju Banton just made history at his home country Jamaica two months ago when he filled the National Stadium with over 35000 fans. This concert marked his return home after 10 years of imprisonment in the USA.
With a career spanning over 25 years in the reggae dancehall culture, international collaborations, global cross over hit singles, millions of youtube views and streams and hundreds of live concerts, Buju is a living legend revered home and abroad.
With over 10 albums in the music business and collaborations with the greats like Beres Hammond, Buju is a living legend and Kenya would be honoured to host him.
Among other acts touted to be on this concert include Royal Reggae Family Morgan Heritage, Jemere Morgan, Stonebwoy from Ghana and Diamond Platnumz. The government is rumored to be the financier of this gig and gate fee will be affordable.
