Popular Socialite and entrepreneur Bridget Achieng has opened up about the challenges she faced when she ventured into the event organizing business and the achievements she has had so far.
In a detailed post, Bridget who has announced the coming of Naifest 3 spoke of the high and low moments as she recalled how sponsors refused to support her when she started out.
“I never in my life thought I would be an event organizer leave alone being one of the biggest event organizers in Kenya.
“People don’t still get how a socialite transitioned into a mother a businesswoman and now an event planner.” She wrote in her post
According to Bridget when she planned for Naifest 1, all she had was the idea but she lacked funds to facilitate. To Her disappointment, sponsors turned their back on her and she had to find other means for the event to be successful.
Apart from funds, another major challenge was having to deal with other event organizers who wanted to sabotage her reputation.
In Naifest 1, Bridget says that she had 8K people in attendance which surpassed her target of 5K & this worked to her advantage since she became 5.2 Million richer.
“I remember the day of the event it rained so heavily that it was flooding but people didn’t care they turned up and they had fun. And I made 5.2million Ksh just like that.” She revealed
With this win, Bridget proceeded with Naifest 2 which was quite a flop and she made losses and the main headlining artist was a no show. The event organizer however thanked Kenyan artists for making the event a success.
Although Naifest 2 was marred by controversy including the unfortunate incident of Shanti’s death, Bridget has promised her fans of that the coming event scheduled for April will be better.
“And now we are planning naifest 3 this time it’s going to be better and big. We are working on better security and an environment where everyone will go home safe.” She concluded
