Blankets and Wine Returns This December!

Popular Kenyan event Blankets and Wine returns this December after a long hiatus. In a post on their official Instagram handle, their founder Muthoni Drummer Queen confirmed that the show is going down on 21st December 2022.

While more details on the event are yet to be unveiled, the organizers are excited to be making a comeback. The upcoming show is dubbed the ‘Kenyan Summer Edition,’ and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.

Blankets and Wine gained popularity among urban Kenyans since its inception in 2008. So far, its stage has been graced by top artists such as AKA, Estelle, Kool and The Gang, Aloe Blacc, Blinky Bill, Suraj, Muthoni Drummer Queen, Chris Adwar, Atemi, and Elani among others.

As the name suggests attendees bring a bottle of wine, a picnic basket, and a blanket to the concert. The show has continuously exceeded expectations by promoting both popular and upcoming acts from Kenya and beyond.

In addition to incredible artist lineups and electrifying performances, it is also respected for providing exemplary customer experiences. This is through picturesque picnic setups, edgy fashion expression, and unique vendor experiences.

In 2012, Blankets and Wine held its first concert in Kampala as part of its efforts to go beyond Kenya. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they hosted virtual shows such as Blankets & Wine Presents Nairobi to keep their fans entertained. It is without a doubt one of Kenya’s most revolutionary creations in the events industry.

Just like the organizers, we are super excited about this comeback. Stay tuned for details on the venue, tickets, and performers’ lineup.
