Big Yasa Drops Sophomore Studio Album “Wapoa SZN”

Kenyan rap luminary Big Yasa dropped his eagerly anticipated sophomore studio album “Wapoa SZN.” The 15-track project features songs such as Lies, Mixed Feelings, Ten Plus and Ticha adding to his impressive growing discography. “Wapoa SZN” follows his debut studio album, ‘BIGGS’ which was released in 2022.

“Wapoa” translates to “beautiful girl” in Kenyan Sheng slang. The project is a heartfelt dedication to women and vulnerability and it explores Big Yasa’s more sentimental and feminine side. This departure from the typical image associated with Drill rappers, who are often perceived as masculine, chivalrous, and alpha, demonstrates Big Yasa’s willingness to embrace vulnerability and explore diverse facets of his identity through his music.

Wapoa SZN Is For The Ladies

Speaking on the album the “Wasp” hitmaker described this collection as different. “Wapoa SZN is about love, so it is going to be different.” Says Big Yasa. “There will be more melody and emotion, and it’s only right that we share this labor of love during the season of love because I’m dedicating this piece of art to the ladies.” He adds.

With ‘Wapoa SZN’, Big Yasa expands his artistic repertoire, capturing sensuality, courtship, and intimacy with finesse. His range as an artist shines through as he cements his position as a mainstay in the contemporary music scene. This project sees him delving into themes of relationships, family, music, upbringing, and more.

On the album, he has collaborated with artists such as Dyana Cods, Spinx Mafia, Magaa Fella, Silas Piper, Papi Mulla, Mr Right, Davaji, Milashe, and Ajay. Big Yasa made a name for himself through hit records such as “Cold,” “ULALAA” and “Bad Boyz Club” among others. Since then, he has continued to grow his influence in the Kenyan Drill Rap scene. In 2022, Big Yasa co-headlined the prestigious Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music Studios further solidifying his status as a rap elite.

Fans can expect an immersive journey into the depths of Big Yasa’s artistry ‘Wapoa SZN’ is now live on streaming platforms.
