The number one trending music video on the Youtube Kenya version is by critically acclaim gospel hitmaker Bahati. The new jam dropped 5 days ago, has over 150k views and still rising.
Bahati is an AFRIMMA nominated gospel artist and winner of Groove Award 2014/15. His career has been steady, churning out hit after hit. Bizarrely, his presumed rivalry with his gospel compadre Willy Pozee also garners him haters and lovers in equal measure.
The new jam “Ndogo Ndogo” features a relatively new name on the music scene but immensely talented David Wonder who works closely with EMB Record company. The song drops a week later after Willy Paul dropped “Jigi Jigi” enhancing their battle on who rules the airwaves with new music.
The Jam “Ndogo Ndogo” kicks off with a skit from two local gagsters who are killing it now, Njuguna and Dj Shitti who rose to fame via the spoof reality Tv Show ”Real Housewives Of Kawagware”. The jam explores current issues like the standard of living, lust and entertainment and links it to stray from the Creator.
Bahati bites off a secular style of rhyme popularised by Timmy Tdat and makes it suit his flow. Bahati though falls short when it comes to music delivery and he is never on key with the beat. No wonder his liver performances are normally a sore to the ear. David Wonder, on the other hand, has mastered his voice variations and his delivery is inimitable.
The jam will go through the usual frenzy from overhype by the various Gospel magazine Shows and we shall pack it in the racks as usual. I’d rate the song 5/10. What would you say about the song? The jam is available on the online purchase portal Skiza and can be your ringback tone if you so wish.
