Awaited Film ‘Nairoberry’ Set To Premiere

Local film “Nairoberry” is set to premiere on Friday, December 10 after almost two years in the kitchen.

The anticipated film, produced by seasoned director Jennifer Gatero, is set to officially be launched at 8 am at Anga Cinema.

A film about six university students who are on the run after stealing 37 million shillings, friendship and loyalty are put to the test as human greed slowly begins to take over. The movie shows the crime lifestyle youths in Nairobi are being lured into as they strive to achieve their dreams.

Gatero said that it has been a nightmare working on the film.

“Producing a movie is the hardest thing I have ever done,” she said on her social media.

“Anyone who has done it will tell you that it includes a mental and emotional breakdown every single day. Just for kicks. Phew! But I am beyond happy cuz we are nowhere! Today is the day I have been dreaming of my whole life. Opening night is at Anga cinema at 8 pm on the 10th of December 2021.”

The work of ensuring the movie is a success might have been demanding but Gatero also believes it was all worth it because fans have already shown immense support and love even before the project is launched.

“Goodmorning! I woke up feeling so happy and a little emotional because of all the overwhelming support from you guys I have been receiving since yesterday,” she said in another post.

“Buy your tickets now, all you have to do is dial *229*25# from your safcom line. Who is coming? Who has bought their tickets? I would love to see it in the comments.”

Renowned names in the project include Lorna Lemi, Jerita Mwaka, Moses Gathoga and Moses Osidiana. The movie joins a long list of others from Gatero such as “Changing times”, “This is life” and “Better Days”.
