Maryolive is a multitalented star. The Kenyan singer, songwriter, actress, and instrumentalist began her music journey in her primary school choir. Later, she joined the prestigious Kenyan Conservatoire of Music in 2009 where she continued to hone her musical talent.

Since then, her career has taken her to greater heights such as performing in musicals, concerts, and operas on coveted stages that include the Kenya National and Phoenix Theatres and even State House. In 2013, Maryolive launched her acting career and featured in a couple of projects such as The Groove Theory TV Series and short films The Audition, and September.
Maryolive’s Music
Recently, she dropped her self-titled debut EP which has 4 tracks namely; With You, Nyamwathi, September, and Crush. The album is centered on sentimental themes such as love, vulnerability, family, and relationships to mention a few.
Describing her album, Maryolive said, “Butterflies symbolise evolving of oneself, hope and bravery. This EP is me embracing my freedom, in that my truest self can always fly free no matter what life throws at me.”
Apart from her original songs, Maryolive has also done beautiful covers of popular songs like Kesho Kutwa by Ethan Muziki, Tamia’s Officially Missing You, and September Song by JP Cooper.
While her main genres are RnB, Pop, and Soul, the I Remember singer also stretches into Classical music. Her unique sound is very refreshing and smooth. Maryolive takes pride in her unique musical strengths. These include talented lyrist, soloist, vocal control, and instrumentalist. She draws inspiration from different artists such as Mariah Carey and Mirriam Makeba.

Courtesy of her hard work and incredible talent, The Nyamwathi Singer has several accolades under her belt. These include Best Classical Act – Café Ngoma Awards 2017 and Best Experimental Music – Sondeka Awards 2020. Furthermore, in 2021 she was featured in Producer Waithaka’s unique album Odes By Queens with the song, Come See Me.
