The Women’s Choice Awards Africa is a global award organized by Ghanian PR & marketing company, Global Ovations. The award seeks to recognize women, men and brands that are empowering their communities from various fields such as Media, Humanitarian Causes, Government, Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology, Music and Film among others.
The award which will go down in Accra Ghana has Kenyans on its list of nominees. These Kenyans are, Amina Abdi Rabar and Jackie Lumbasi nominated for the Radio & Television Personality of The Year, Catherine Ndereba for The Sports Personality of The Year and Lupita Nyong’o nominated for the Actor of The Year Awards. Excited about this nomination, Amina posted on Instagram saying:

Other nominees include Stone Bwoy, Casper Nyovest, Genevieve Nnaji, Oprah Winfrey, Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platinumz, Bonang Matheba and Chimamanda Adichie among others. The organizers have intimated that they will be partnering with the Oprah Winfrey Network in this project.
