Ambassador Consul General Thomas Kwaka Omolo, popularly known as Big Ted, has won an award for promoting the development of the creative economy in Kenya and the Diaspora at the Diaspora One Voice Consortium (OVC) Investors Expo held in Rockville, Maryland, USA.
The Diaspora One Voice Consortium (OVC) Investors Expo was held between May 5th-7th and reportedly attracted over 120 participants.
Big Ted is a veteran in the Kenyan creative economy and a pillar in the industry where he focuses on bridging Kenya and the Diaspora creative sector. As Consul General, he is charged with promoting the business interests of Kenyans living in the United States of America.
After securing the award the ambassador shared the news via his social media expressing his excitement.

““We are just getting started because goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life! God wins again,” he shared.
The Expo’s Planning Chair, Dr Jake Ongaki, further shared his excitement on the success of the event while also sharing his anticipation for the future.
“This event exceeded our expectations and we are grateful to all participants and sponsors for their support. We believe the Expo has laid a strong foundation for future collaboration and investment in our communities,” Ongaki said.
Big Ted has been credited with being behind most of the promotion efforts of the biggest names in the entertainment industry in Kenya for the last 20 years.
