It is Award Season in Kenya and the 3rd edition of the Café Ngoma Awards will be going down on 11th December at the Louis Leakey Auditorium. The Award which seeks to celebrate Kenyans in the alternative space held its first-ever edition in December 2017 and has continued to grow.
This edition will have Pianist Aaron Rimbui and Singer Pete Odera receive The Pioneer and The Legendary Awards respectively, while Music Promoter and Event Organizer Buddha Blaze will receive The Contribution in Music Award. The Leadership Award will be given to Academician and ICT Champion Bitange Ndemo and Combative and Shooting Instructor Inayat Kassam will receive The Humanitarian Award.
There are 16 categories up for the contest with The Songwriter Award and The Best Cross- Over Act being introduced as new categories for this edition. Other categories include: RnB Artists of The Year, Best New Artist, Best Jazz Act of The Year and Dance Artist of The Year among others.
