The third edition of the Kalasha International Film and TV Market is here. The event which has been organized by the Kenya Film Commission will be going down at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) from 26th-28th March 2019. The event’s primary objective is to showcase Kenya as a major regional hub for Film and TV production, post-production and distribution, across all platforms and genres while reinforcing the uniqueness of Kenya as a shooting location.
According to the organizers this will be the largest film event in the East African region. This event has a lot in store for players in the film business. There will be panel talks on various topics like: Intellectual Property, Role of Distribution and Marketing, Freedom of Expression within the Film Industry and Economic Impact of Film Associations among others. Attendees will learn from the various workshop sessions that will tackle various matters such as: Importance of African Music in Production of TV & Film, Conceiving and Script Writing for TV series and How to Pitch a Project Successfully among others.
The film & TV Market will also feature pitching sessions for various types of films such as animation, short films, movies etc. There will be an award for the best pitch on the final day of the event. Those interested can make their submissions here by the 20th of March 2019. The winner will walk away with a cash prize of Kshs 500,000
