Forget your lockdown woes as April is about to begin on a high note. The Nairobi Design Week whose main aim is to showcase the value of design and creativity will be taking place from 3rd April till 10th April 2021. The event will launch online at 6 pm EAT.
Open to creatives from all works of life and any other interested people, the festival’s schedule has already been released. According to the organizers, it will feature various fun discussion topics and activities such as Stories From Creatives, Waste Challenge, Human Rights Film Festival and Eat, Design Repeat just to mention a few.
This edition’s stage will be graced by various creatives such as Singer Phinoshey, Filmmaker Jean Aiko, Painter Crae, Illistrator Mbithe Mutavi, Poet Jimmie, Digital Creator Raph Wangutusi, Fashion Designer Rosemary Wangari, Jeweller Judy Kori and Digital Artist Kaviki among others.
The vibrant production team which is packed with diverse creatives from illustrators, dancers, 3D artists, photographers, jewelers, musicians and filmmakers among others, is promising to deliver a bigger and better edition this year.
Nairobi Design Week 2021 is backed up by British Council, Open Design Afrika, Kenya Lighting Industries, Arts Thread, World Design Weeks, Design Manchester, Sandstorm Kenya, RefuShe, Karakana, Hisi Studio and Design Kenya Society.
