Kenyan based Congolese star Alicios Theluji is comfortably settled in the Kenyan music scene and by now she can pass as one of our own. From having major collabos with P-Unit, Kagwe Mungai, Collo, Juliana Kanyamozi, Kidum now she has scored possibly the biggest and that is with Khaligraph Jones.
Alicios recently signed with Taurus Music group after returning to Kenya from Congo where she was working on her music and touching base with the Congolese sound. She also had time away to cater for her young family.
On the new audio release, she does not stray from the benga/bongo vibe, and she slays the Swahili sing-along – titled ”Ya Nini”. The ballad is a back and forth with King of the Trap singing about a strenuous relationship and influences to the said love. The pair has the chemistry on record and Alicios throws in some Congolese flow and its amazing. This track will be a definite radio hit and can easily spill over to the clubs.
In a recent interview at a local Radio station, Alicios explained how she got in contact with Khaligraph and what transpired. She has this to say, “My manager, Buddhah Blaze, introduced me to him and we just decided to do something and the result was really beautiful. It was amazing working with Khaligraph. He’s very hardworking and talented. I didn’t expect him to kill it like that.”
The Jam is uploaded online by Wasafi Records but we shall get the full production credits when the video is out, in the meantime enjoy the audio above.
