A new festival is about to hit the city, and from the names of the performers on the list, it looks like one you probably need to bookmark, if you enjoy live instrumentation.
The first edition of the AFROLECT Jazz & Roots Festival takes place on the 27th of this month at the Purdy Arms in Karen and features bona-fide jazz stars including Idd Aziz, Tetu Shani and the Nairobi Horns Project, with DJ Kace supporting it all.
Live music has over the past decade experienced a resurgence in Nairobi and AFROLECT will be looking to ride on that wave.
It aims to present Jazz, African and Roots music to a growing audience, and subsequent editions will feature performers from across Africa and the globe. Also, the festival will continually offer a platform to Kenyan performers who are keen to grow globally recognized music and brands.
Tickets are on sale now via Mookh.
Pick up your advance tickets for the event at Ksh 1,000.
