African Film Festival is Coming to Nairobi

Following a successful festival in New York last month, African Film Festival, Inc. (AFF) is proud to announce its partnership with DOCUBOX – an East African Documentary Film Fund.

AFF and Docubox are screening “Bronx Princess” at the Mageuzi Theatre tonight at 6 p.m. in what will hopefully be the start to a very fruitful collaboration.

“Film lovers in Nairobi are invited to catch this screening of the spirited coming-of-age story of Rocky Otoo,” reads an AFF press release.

The film follows Rocky Otoo, a Bronx-bred teen with Ghanian heritage. Growing up in the Bronx, Otoo has lost touch with her African roots, oftentimes resulting in conflicts with her Ghanian mother on ideas of life and independence. But then something happens.

“During the summer between her high school graduation and the start of college, Rocky journeys to Africa to reunite with her father, a chief in Ghana,” the press release continues. “While there Rocky must reconcile her African heritage with her ideas of independence.”

The event will also feature a rooftop bar and an overall good time. If you can, be sure to make it there. In the meantime, check out the trailer below and get your FREE tickets here.
