Acoustic Alchemy Rebrands to “Do Not Fret”

We are outside, vaxed (hopefully), no curfew and once again we can enjoy events like the phenomenal show put together recently by the Kenya Conservatoire of Music and Tusker Malt.

The inaugural concert under the series dubbed DO NOT FRET was staged at the Kenya National Theatre. This original series which was formerly known as Acoustic Alchemy however began in 2011 as a platform for the students to perform professionally.

Coming back from a break since May 2019, the 2021 Edition featured performances by Manaseh Uzele, Fret Venture Chamber Ensemble, vocalists including Lisa Oduor-Noah, Christine Wambui, Vereso Music, and guitarist Ivy Alexander who just released her debut album in 2021.

“If you get to experience any of these musicians, it really is a privilege. They work at perfecting their craft to represent your emotions through sonic wavelengths, Really is a privilege. FRET VENTURES” said @Vereso

The 2 hour plus show was breathtaking to take in; especially right now as discussions on Kenyan musicians not being appreciated enough has been a trending topic.

Judging from the packed theatre and the quality of performances we are going in the right direction.
