A Look at Lupita Nyong’o’s Met Gala Moments

After a one-year hiatus, fashion’s biggest event Meta Gala is back.

2021 Met Gala is scheduled to take place on Monday, Sep.13 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

About Met Gala?

Met Gala is a charity event started in 1948.

It is held annually on the first Monday in May to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.

Due to the Pandemic, the 2020 gala was canceled, and this year’s pushed to September.

The guest list includes musicians, models, actors, photographers, and designers.

Some of the names we can expect in the event’s guest list in 2021 include Beyoncè, Rihanna, and our very own Lupita Nyong’o.

Lupita Nyong’o Met Gala Looks

Lupita first walked the Met Gala red carpet on May 5, 2014.

She donned a feathered, beaded, mesh green Prada dress, paired with purple eye makeup and glittering flapper headband.

At the 2016 Met Gala, Lupita wore a signature most talked about hairstyle inspired by Nina Simone.

She also embraced the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme with a shiny, jade gown.

In 2017, Met Gala Lupita stunned in an orange, feathered Prada dress, she also went bold with several different eyeshadow colors on her lids.

At the 2019 Met Gala, Lupita donned a fluorescent rainbow Versace gown, opting for a towering afro, sculpted and backcombed.

“Our goal was to demonstrate the power, malleability, and luxuriousness of natural hair texture,” explained her hairstylist Vernon Francois.

We now look ahead to how the guests will translate the American fashion theme.
