6 Ways To Minimize The Appearance Of Large Pores

To minimize the appearance of large pores, it is important to focus on anti-ageing practices and keeping pores clean. Skin with better elasticity and more collagen will have smaller-looking pores. Likewise, pores clogged with dirt, oil, and dead cells will look smaller. Wondering what causes the appearance of large pores? Read in our previous article.

Here are six ways to make large pores look smaller: –

Using a cleanser with salicylic or benzoyl peroxide at least once a day can help minimize the appearance of large pores. Choose a cleanser with the lowest percentage of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide available as high percentages are not more effective and can cause more irritation.

Using a retinoid is enough exfoliation for many people, but if your skin is particularly congested, exfoliating with a gentle AHA may be helpful.

Use Retinoids

Retinoids increase cell turnover unclog pores, making them appear smaller. Retinoids can also be helpful with anti-ageing. However, it is important to find a retinoid that does not irritate your skin, as irritation can weaken the skin barrier.

Use Moisturizer

To minimize pores, you need a moisturizer that hydrates your skin but does not clog your pores. Avoid moisturizers with germ oil, coconut oil, and soybean oil, which clog pores. Using a moisturizer with Niacinamide can help decrease age-related damage and help reduce pore size.

Use Sunscreen

If possible, opt for a sunscreen with zinc oxide- it helps with evening out your complexion. If you do not enjoy the thick texture of mineral sunscreens, opt for a chemical/physical combination one.

Limit Foundation Use

Unfortunately, foundation, particularly full coverage foundation, tends to clog pores. Limiting the use of foundation is one of the best things you can do for your pores. If you do not wear foundation, remember to double cleanse your face thoroughly before bedtime.

Note: It usually takes up to 4-6 weeks to notice results with any treatment regimen. The important thing is to be patient and consistent.
