When we speak about skincare, we often focus on our face, neck, and chest while leaving everything else behind. Body care is essentially the practice of caring for the skin beneath your shoulders- your back, legs, bum, elbow, hands, feet, and so much more.
It is not recommendable to apply body care to your face. Body products are designed for thick, dry skin and can cause your face to break out or feel greasy. However, the skin on our body is thicker and less sensitive than our face. Therefore, anything you apply to your face will probably work on your body as well.

Here are some main differences between the skin on our body and our face:-
Thickness- The layer of fat beneath the skin on our body is much thicker than our face.
The Number Of Oil Glands- Our face has more active oil glands than the rest of our body.
Cellular Turnover Rate– The skin on our body has a slower cellular turnover rate.
Here are some common body concerns and how to repair them:-
Body Acne- If you have body acne, you need to look for acne-fighting ingredients like salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and witch hazel. Also, avoid piping hot showers.
Eczema- Ample moisturization is vital. Also, ensure you double-check that your moisturizer is fragrance-free.
Dark Spots and Scars- To repair this concern, you need to exfoliate skin and consistently use sun protection. Additionally, try an AHA exfoliating acid.
Sagging and Crepey Skin- One should look for ingredients like retinol, peptides, and micro-algae to help firm and lift tired skin. Also, do not forget SPF.
Dry Patches and Ashy Skin- Always apply body oil after your shower to remove moisture.
Keratosis Pilaris (KP)- To repair KP, one should use a gentle scrub or a BHA-based wash with salicylic acid.
