3 Simple Basic Skincare Do’s For Every Beginner

The other day my client mentioned she buys skincare products because the packaging looks nice, and they are not bothered to know if it’s for her skin type. Not everyone knows much about skincare, and not everyone knows how to care for their skin properly. Some people exfoliate every day. Some people argue with me they do not see the need to wear sunscreen daily.

Here, we reveal some basic skincare do’s for beginners:-

DO: Cleanse Your Face

Knowing your skin type is an essential factor in skincare because you need to buy the right products for your face/skin. Additionally, it is advisable to cleanse your face twice a day with a mild facial cleanser that suits your skin type. Avoid using ordinary or bar soaps, which are too harsh for your face and can strip it of its natural oils. Also, consider air-drying your face instead of using a face towel- it can transfer bacteria to your clean face if it’s not clean. Nonetheless, avoid touching your face and picking at your skin. If you must touch your face to apply makeup or face products, wash your hands first to make sure they’re clean of oils and dirt.

DO: Wear Sunscreen Every Day (UV Radiation Penetrate Clouds)

Overexposure to the sun’s UV rays is the primary cause of aging skin. While your moisturizer may have sunscreen in it, it may not be enough to protect for the entire day. Always use an independent sunscreen with at least SPF 30. If you’re struggling with hyperpigmentation, look out for sunscreen that contains zinc oxide (protects against UVA rays). If you do not use sunscreen, your skin will be prone to sunburns, and your dark spots will keep getting darker. Even though you’re indoors, wear sunscreen because UVB rays can still penetrate the skin if windows surround you.

DO: Take Care Of Your Body, Not Just Your Face

Make it a habit to take care of your body. Exfoliate your body once or twice a week, depending on your preference. Also, moisturize your body with a good lotion or body oil, or body butter. You can use all three but not at the same time. Sometimes, you can mix body oils with your body butter to achieve an extra glow. Stay away from harmful alkaline soaps, which can irritate the skin. To pamper your skin, you can use a body mist for the added fragrance.
